You will love how light, fluffy and perfectly spiced these Buns are<\/em>, and they honesty are easy to make.<\/p>\n<p>There really is nothing better than a Homemade Hot Cross Bun (especially enjoyed warm and with a whole heap of butter), and this recipe have you enjoying delicious light and fluffy buns in no time at all.<\/p>\n<h2>Hot Cross Bun Ingredients:<\/h2>\n<p>Please don\u2019t be put off by the number of ingredients needed to make this recipe, most of these ingredients you may already have in our pantry!<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Plain Flour<\/li>\n<li>Yeast<\/li>\n<li>Caster Sugar<\/li>\n<li>Milk<\/li>\n<li>Bread Improver, this is optional but I do recommend it.<\/li>\n<li>Mixed Spice<\/li>\n<li>Cinnamon<\/li>\n<li>Butter<\/li>\n<li>Egg<\/li>\n<li>Raisins<\/li>\n<li>Currants<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Ingredients for the White Icing \u2018Crosses\u2019<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Plain Flour<\/li>\n<li>Water<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Glaze Ingredients:<\/h4>\n<p>To make the glaze, you will need:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Apricot Jam \u2013 you can use white sugar in place of jam if you wish. You will need to cook the mixture down until the sugar dissolves.<\/li>\n<li>Water<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>How to Make Hot Cross Buns:<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>Combine all of your dough ingredients and knead the dough.<\/li>\n<li>Let the dough rest until it doubles in size.<\/li>\n<li>Divide the dough into 12 even sized balls and place onto a baking tray to let them rise again.<\/li>\n<li>Make the paste for the \u2018crosses\u2019 and pipe.<\/li>\n<li>Brush the Buns while still warm with the Apricot Glaze and let them cool before enjoying.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3>My Recipe Tips:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>The time it takes for your dough to rise will be impacted by the temperature of the room.
